U.S. Veteran Nicholas Allen Bailey, of Franklin, Arkansas, son of Rita White Bailey and the late Neal Bailey and grandson of the late Vernie Bailey and Barney Joe White, was born September 21, 1979 in Calico Rock. He departed this life September 2, in Horseshoe Bend, at the age of 32 years and 12 days.
Bailey was a 1988 graduate of Izard County Consolidated High School. He went on to attend college at University of Central Arkansas and Ozarka College. Later he was employed by Crown Point Resort in Horseshoe Bend. He was of the Assembly of God faith and a member of the Horseshoe Bend Assembly of God Church.
He is survived by his mother: Rita White Bailey and Tracy Sanders of Guion; his paternal grandmother: Marie Bailey Walker and husband Maurice Walker of Franklin; his maternal grandmother: Walase White and husband Cecil White of Cave City; one brother: Dustin Bailey and wife Melanie of Boonville; two nieces and one nephew: Meghan Bailey, Hannah Bailey and Ethan Bailey; his maternal aunt: Judy Sanders and husband Lyle of Franklin; cousins: Nathan Sanders and daughter Lilly, and Alissa Sanders Foyt and husband Doug and daughter Izzy; maternal aunt: Sharon “Pop” McCormack and husband Ken of Cave City; maternal uncle: Joe White and wife Vicky of Cabot and paternal uncle: Lonnie Bailey and wife Trish of Ash Flat and a host of other relatives and many good friends.
He was preceded in death by his father; one aunt: Sharon Bailey and his paternal and maternal grandfathers.
Graveside funeral service was Sunday, September 9, at 2 p.m. at Roberts Cemetery  in Franklin under the direction of Eddie’s Family Funeral Home in Melbourne with Verlin Walker officiating.
Visitation was Saturday, September 8 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers: Daniel Bohannon, Tommy Billingsley, Brandon Billingsley, Jonathan Williams, Brian Wiseman, Logan Delargy.
