Music in the Mountains will open its doors at 5 p.m. on June 20. This month, returning to the stage, we have Whitney King who is a college student from Houston, TX. She is in the area visiting her grandparents for summer vacation. She loves music of all kinds and will not disappoint anyone. Let’s welcome her back to Horseshoe Bend and the Music in the Mountains stage.
Also performing this month is Dr. Catherine Wilson. Wilson is an adjunct professor of music at Middle Tennessee State University where she teaches music education courses. She is the daughter-in-law of Horseshoe Bend resident, Deaun Wilson. She is a published arranger and songwriter. You will not want to miss either of these guests this month.
The Hwy. 289 Band will also be doing a medley of TV show songs and Tracy will be giving away a shirt to the person who gets the most correct. Sound easy? Well, the songs will be mixed in with other songs so you will have to be on your toes and listen for the show tunes!
The doors will open at 5 p.m. with hamburgers and hotdogs on the grill. The girls will have cold drinks and other goodies at the concession stand along with the mayor and his popcorn! Come join us for a night of fun, good food, and good music. Show starts at 6 p.m. Admission is by donation which is used to keep the doors open. Music in the Mountains is located at the Horseshoe Bend Theatre in Diamond B Mall.
NOTE: The Music in the Mountains will not have a show in July or August. We are going to remodel the stage at that time. We are looking for volunteers to help so if you have some spare time, let us know and we will fill you in on what’s going to be done and when. See you there!
