The Spring City Wide Cleanup Day in the city of Oxford will be Saturday, April 11. Residents are encouraged to do their spring cleaning and place those unwanted items at the curb for trash pickup that morning.
Items that will not/can not be taken include: hazardous waste of any kind, red bag medical waste-including needles, motor oil, tires of any kind, free flowing liquids, yard waste-including grass clippings, leaves, branches, auto batteries, paint, freon filled components, dead animals, asbestos material, wood not to exceed four inches in diameter or three feet in length, items over 60 pounds excluding furniture and appliances, regular household trash will not be picked up, no roofing.
The Oxford Baptist Church will be having a community outreach the week prior to the city wide cleanup, on Saturday, April 4. Plans include helping those in need with yardwork, door to door evangelism, and a Bible Club at the city park for the children.
Neighbors Helping Neighbors of Oxford will be conducting a cleanup on April 4 as well. Those wishing to volunteer to help the Neighbors clean up that day, please sign up with your name and phone number at City Hall in Oxford.
