Each year on Memorial Day, we mourn the loss of Americans who died defending their Country throughout the World since 1775. Since then, we have included all Veterans who have served and fought to keep America free, so we honor them also.
On Monday, May 25, our American Veterans Memorial Committee will sponsor the Memorial Day Program to honor American Veterans at 11 a.m. at the Veteran’s Memorial in Ash Flat. Food will be available before and after the program. Chairs will be there for your comfort.

Veterans-Day-2014
Members of the American Legion Post #344 will observe Veteran’s Day November 11 at Veterans Park in Horseshoe Bend.
The ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. We hope that all citizens will join us in honoring the men and women who served their country in uniform.
The American Legion, making its 95th year in service to God and Country, was formed by Veterans after World War I to promote American ideals and to ensure that families of their fallen comrades would be cared for.
Today the American Legion continues to fight for health and education benefits for this nation’s Veterans. The Legion also sponsors programs that benefit Americas youth, such as American Legion Boys and Girls State, American Legion Baseball, the National High School Oratorical Contest and Scouting programs. The American Legion is involved and making a difference around the world and right here in Horseshe Bend. American Legion Post #344 is proud to be a part of this community.
