Build A Better World is the theme for our Summer Reading Program for 2017. The Horseshoe Bend Public Library will present our summer program on Thursdays, starting at 11:30 a.m., June 1 through 29. Our programs are designed for pre-school through 12 years old. As always, we welcome our parents and grandparents to attend. We appreciate the help and interest you have given us over the years.
We will be reading a story from new books that we have just purchased. For those that want to participate, we will also have a family-reading-together contest, which we will give a prize for the most books read. This summer we will have new games and activities that we have never done before. We will have treats, incentives, prizes, guests and lunch at the end of the program.
Please register at the Horseshoe Bend Library, located at 9 Club Road in Horseshoe Bend. You may also call to register at 870-670-4318. We feel that you will have a great time at the library and we look forward to seeing you.

What does it take to be a hero? This summer we will explore what it takes to become a superhero. Some say it is our words, actions and how we conduct our lives. Others say it is being in the right place at the right time that gives us the opportunity to help someone. There are many different kinds of heroes and this summer we will explore and discover the hero within ourselves. Our shelves at the library are filled with stories of people that have made their mark in history, or made a difference in our world.
The theme of our summer program is Every Hero Has A Story. The program will be held weekly on Wednesdays, starting June 17 at 11:30 a.m. and ending on July 15, here at our Horseshoe Bend Public Library. We will have special guests, some exciting new things to do. We will have treats, prizes and a new book for each child that attends. Reading is important and we will read-a-story at each program. We start with age five; however, mothers are welcome to bring their younger children, if you stay with them. We also have teens that still like to come and help.
Mothers are always welcome. We appreciate all the help we have received from our mothers and grandmothers over the years.
Please come in and register your children at 9 Club Road, Horseshoe Bend, or call us at 870-670-4318. Bring a friend with you. We are looking forward to a great summer program.
