Be a sweetheart. Join the “Friends” for a “FunRaiser” Bowl for the Animals on Saturday, February 13 at 11 a.m. at Horseshoe Lanes. Teams need to be made up of four bowlers. Fees are $20 per bowler with kids under 12 bowling for $10, and each team will receive a free pizza while bowling, provided by Scenic Realty. There will be lots of prizes, drawings, and special awards.
The “FunRaiser” is a great way to spend time with good friends, and help the animals. Pick a theme for your team; choose a name, wear matching clothes, anything to stand out in the crowd and have a good time! Area businesses and churches, please think about sponsoring a team. If you’re not a bowler, sponsor a friend or a team. Sponsorships are only $5 for each bowler. If you want to bowl, but don’t have a team, we can put one together for you.
The Friends’ Bake Sale, always the best goodies in town with lots of delicious choices, will also be going on at the Horseshoe Lanes from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Stop in to buy your special Valentine treats for yourself and others. Come out on Saturday, July 11, to help the dogs and cats of Horseshoe Bend by joining in the fun at the Third Annual Bowl for the Animals Tournament sponsored by Horseshoe Lanes in Horseshoe Bend.
The bowling and good times will kick off at 11 a.m. Bowling is with teams of four people, and the entry fee is $20 per person with $15 of each fee going directly to the Friends of Horseshoe Bend Animals.
The first place winning team will receive $120 and $80 goes to the second place team.
Set up as a “9 Pin No Tap” Tournament, it is a great way to reach some high scores, spend time with good friends, and help the animals.

A Bake Sale featuring cakes, pies, and other baked goods will also be going on at Horseshoe Lanes during the tournament. Stop in to buy a whole cake or pie, a loaf of bread, or a pan of brownies.
Also, during the tournament “The Friends” will have a 50/50 raffle and sell raffle tickets for the Quilt Raffle being held at our Harvest Festival in November.
So it is time to get your four-person teams together, register at Horseshoe Lanes, and be prepared to have a great, cool July day while helping a good cause. Help the dogs and cats of Horseshoe Bend.

A Youth Bowling League has started in Horseshoe Bend.

A few more youths are still needed to make this a successful league, so if anyone knows of someone under 18 that would like to participate, please have them contact Horseshoe Lanes at 870-670-5606. This league will be bowling at 11 a.m. on Saturday mornings at Horseshoe Lanes. This will be a Doubles League, with two bowlers on a team.

There will be a coach to help bowlers increase their skill level and parents are welcome to come and watch.
