A two-vehicle accident was reported in Horseshoe
Bend on Saturday, January 19, with both drivers
involved refusing medical treatment according to the
Horseshoe Bend Police Department.
At approximately 3:55 p.m., a 2000 Olds Alero
traveling north on Nightingale was struck on
the driver’s side while crossing Hummingbird,
by a 2007 GMC pickup traveling east on Hummingbird. Trapped in the Alero was driver Theresa Bayes, age 48 of Salem. The Horseshoe Bend Fire Department was called to the scene for extrication. Bayes refused
medical transport as well as the driver of the pickup,
Christopher Beaver, age 25 of Horseshoe Bend.
No stop sign was located at the intersection of
Hummingbird and Nightingale.
Bayes vehicle was totaled in the accident and
removed from the scene by Beene’s Towing.
According the police report, Beaver’s vehicle
sustained $5,000 in damages and was towed by Counce Towing.

David  Alan Beaver, 73, of  Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas, was born on May 20, 1939, in Lisbon, Iowa, son of Everett Wilson and Doris Ann (Mason) Beaver  He passed away Thursday, September 13, 2012, at his residence.
David was united in marriage to Paula Gail McCollum on March 5, 1982, in Las Vegas, Nevada.  He worked as an automobile mechanic and served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
David  is  survived by his wife, Paula Gail Beaver of Horseshoe Bend; two sons,  Paul David Beaver and Chris Alan Beaver of  Horseshoe Bend; one granddaughter, Paige Daniele Beaver of Horseshoe Bend, and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and six brothers and sisters.
No services are planned.  Arrangements by Barker Horseshoe Bend Memorial Chapel in Horseshoe  Bend.
Memorials preferred to the American Cancer Society.
