As promised during the AGFC public meeting held on Tuesday, March 24, in Horseshoe Bend here is the information about the monthly AGFC Commission meeting where the proposed Fisherman’s Park Access at Crown Lake will be discussed.
Issues like the Fisherman’s Park Access are discussed by the AGFC Commissioners in the Property Management Committee.
The Commission has decided to deviate from the normal meeting schedule in order to have the Property Management Committee meeting at the beginning of the Commission meeting. This will allow citizens to attend the Fisherman’s Park Access discussion and not have to stay all day.
The Property Management Committee meeting will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 15 in the Commission Briefing Room at the AGFC Headquarters in Little Rock. The address is 2 Natural Resources Drive, Little Rock AR 72205.
For those planning to attend, the AGFC receptionist at the front entrance will direct you to the AGFC Commission Briefing Room.
They want to make everyone aware that the meeting room is not very big so it could be standing room only. The AGFC does not want this to discourage people from attending.
AGFC wants to relay this important information about the Fisherman’s Park Commission discussion. Their understanding is that each side of the Fisherman’s Park Access discussion (opposed and support) will be given the opportunity to have two people speak before the Commission on the behalf of each side.
Each speaker will be given a maximum of seven minutes. This is the typical allotted time for any speaker whether it is AGFC personnel or member of the public.
The Commission has asked Laureen Sac to be the contact for the opposition side and Tom Doty to be the contact for the support side. These two will decide the speakers for each side.
Sac and Doty have given their permission to attach their contact info.
Laureen Sac, 870-670-4496, saclaur@gmail.com
Tom Doty, 870-926-9934, twdoty02@yahoo.com
Please contact these two with information that you feel will help benefit the side that you are in favor of. Information submitted by Jeremy Risley, District 2 Fisheries Supervisor.
